Helping to Create New Prospects in Life
"Everyone deserves a chance" – at the CJD that also goes for children, young people and adults who suffer a disability following an accident or have a chronic illness. The CJD has set up therapy and training services in specialist institutes, clinics and rehabilitation centres for these cases.
The young people and adults catered for there learn how to cope themselves and rehabilitate their lives. In its rehabilitation work, the CJD combines medical care with educational or vocational development.

Jörg (26)
After attending a special-needs school, Jörg went on to do a baker's apprenticeship. Though he enjoyed the work, he became increasingly allergic to wheat and rye flour. Heavy-hearted, he decided to change jobs and become an industrial mechanic.
The CJD Berufsförderungswerk Vallendar retraining centre gave him the chance to gain a qualification in that field and he found a job in his new trade just a few weeks after completing the training.
