Integration Work

Promoting Cultural Co-Existence

At the CJD, we also provide support for young people who come to Germany from other countries and have different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

A key element of professional and social integration is language teaching. Our integration activities also include tuition in intercultural skills to allow mutual understanding between different cultures. We break down barriers by treading new paths of co-existence with people - based on mutual respect.

Example Profile

Annette (26)

Annette came from Poland to Germany, the country of her ancestors, when she was 21. Back then, her German was only just good enough to get by at the baker's. At CJD Celle's Youth Migration Department, she took lessons to improve her German, learnt about German culture and practised applying for jobs. She found herself a position as a trainee retail sales assistant and now has a permanent job in that area.
